Maytag maxima door locked my maytag maxima washing machine won't shut off when i press the power button, and have to unplug it to shut it off. every time i turn it on, the door won't unlock.. I have a maytag maxima x have had exactly 1 yr. i forgot to turn the water valves on when doing a load now the washers door lock light blinks no other lights will come on and the washer sounds like it wants to run when i plug it in but will only shut off when i unplug it.. For that new maytag washer that you have, you will need to unplug the washer and remove the bottom front service panel as shown in the image below. carefully reach up along the inside of that front panel and pull down on the manual release tab that is on the bottom of the door latch assembly..
